United Power is pleased to offer a rebate to support members converting from fossil-fueled to electric heating and cooling and water heating. The Electrification Wiring rebate program helps to offset the cost of electrical wiring associated with the installation of electrical panel upgrades and other costs associated with electrification.
Electrification Wiring Rebate
Rebate applies to invoiced cost of a licensed electrician to install wiring and panel upgrades for:
- Heat pump installations
- Water heater installations
Rebate Amount:
- Installation Cost < $1,200 — $250
- Installation Cost ≥ $1,200 — $500
Rebate Requirements
- Retrofits of existing buildings only. No new construction.
- Must replace fossil-fuel systems with electric water heater or heat pump.
- Electrification Wiring rebate application must accompany a heat pump or water heater rebate application.
- Rebate limited to one per service location for total of labor and materials invoice for wiring associated with installation.
Program Requirements & Details
- You must receive permanent, residential electric service from United Power to qualify.
- Applications must be submitted within 90 days of installation.
- An invoice detailing equipment brand, model number, and itemized pricing for equipment and labor costs is required with rebate application.
- Photo of outlet and breaker required with rebate application.
- Submission of application does not guarantee rebate.
- Rebates in this category will be issued as a check. Allow six to eight weeks for rebate processing.
