New LED Rebate Provides $10 per Bulb

January 18, 2012

Starting January 1, 2012 United Power members can now try the newest lighting technology – LEDs – with less risk through a rebate funded by Tri-State Generation and Transmission. LED lighting not only reduces energy consumption beyond the performance of CFLs, it also provides a whiter, brighter light for many applications. The long-life bulbs also remove the concern about mercury, which is a small component of current CFL technology.

Members who purchase Energy Star® LED bulbs that are rated at 300 lumens or greater can receive a rebate of $10 per bulb. Members are encouraged to read labels carefully when purchasing to be sure the LED product meets all rebate requirements.
