Wind in Mountain Territory Causing Intermittent Blinks

February 22, 2012

As of 8:25 a.m. all our customers in the Coal Creek Canyon have power, but the high wind is expected to continue throughout the day and will continue to cause intermittent blinks. The blinks are a sign of our system working correctly, and the operation of the protective devices on the system work to protect our equipment and appliances in your homes and businesses. Wind of this strength can also compound the possibility of downed trees, so please be careful when you out walking or driving. Trees that are in our power lines could be electrified, so keep away. Stay away from any downed power lines, and report them as soon as possible.

We have crews patrolling our entire mountain territory and additional crews remain ready to respond in the event of a larger or more prolonged power issue. You are reminded to always call us to report any outage at 303-637-1350 – while our system alerts us to larger outages there is always a possibility of smaller or more isolated outages that we don’t recognize on our monitoring system. Help us by reporting your outages promptly and allowing us to restore power as soon as possible.

Thanks for your patience as we work throughout the day to maintain your power.
