Renewable Incentives
Solar Incentives were added in 2008 to United Power’s growing portfolio of new energy options, which promotes energy efficiency and renewable energy. In 2009, these solar incentives were expanded to include small commercial and now in 2010, United Power will include its first wind rebates. United Power’s New energy portfolio offers several options at various price points to help you make the most of your energy investment. Customers are encouraged to fully investigate all the energy options available before investing in new equipment. In should be noted that in the past, United Power partnered with the State of Colorado Governors Energy Office (GEO) to provide members a combined renewable rebate program. Currently, the State of Colorado is administrating the federal stimulus funds that were allocated for energy efficiency and renewable projects in Colorado. The GEO has elected to run a separate renewable rebate program which will begin April 19, 2010. The United Power renewable rebate program will be offered in conjunction with the State of Colorado program and members are encouraged to apply for both programs to maximize their rebates for renewable energy. Both programs are on a first come, first served basis based on the date of the original application. Rebate programs are not interconnected and once the funds for either program are exhausted, no further rebates will be issued from that particular program unless additional funds are allocated. All Renewable Energy Incentives require customers to contact United Power's New Energy Program Coordinator prior to purchasing or installing any equipment to ensure eligibility.
