Locating of Existing Underground Utilities

In compliance with Colorado State SB93-155, all existing underground utilities and other facilities must be marked prior to excavation. United Power will call the Utility Notification Center of Colorado 48 hours prior to the start of any excavation and request marking of all public utilities.

It is the customer's responsibility to verify, mark and provide a sketch of all customer-owned underground utilities and other facilities within the area of planned excavation. (Subdivision, Commercial/Industrial, and Multi-Unit Commercial builders: these utilities include developer installed water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer and irrigation facilities installed in conjunction with a subdivision or other land development project not yet accepted by the affected jurisdiction.)

United Power construction will not begin until all underground lines and private facilities are marked and United Power has received a sketch and signed copy of the Private Facilities form (pdf).
