United Power is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) for wholesale electric supply to serve retail load within its assigned service territory for terms of not less than 2 years and up to 20 years in length for a range of power supply options including, Full Requirements, Standard Industry Products, such as blocks of power with varying or staggered purchase amounts, and direct off-take supply agreements from asset-based options, such as renewable resources.
United Power has provided Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association its unconditional notice to withdraw from membership effective May 1, 2024. This RFP will enable United Power to fully transition from its current wholesale power provider by that date. RFP submittals should consider value they can be provide toward serving a peak load approaching 600 MW and retail sales of approximately 3,000 GWh.
Process to Participate in RFP:
- Review RFP document including details that outline proposal requirements for submittals.
- Complete the Respondents Registration Form and email United Power RFP by May 16, 2022.
- Sign Non-disclosure Agreement (NDA) and email United Power RFP by May 30, 2022.
- Submit conforming proposal by August 8, 2022 by emailing United Power RFP.
Once the Respondent Registration Form and NDA has been signed, information meetings will be scheduled with United and Respondents prior to the proposal due date with the intention of answering any questions that arise and providing clarifying on the RFP process.
