Smart Thermostat Rebates

The latest technology in cooling and heating your home is the smart thermostat. Purchase a new Google Nest Learning Thermostat or a Honeywell Smart Thermostat to improve comfort and save energy at home. Couple your smart thermostat energy savings with a rebate and annual Smart Rewards credits from United Power.

Smart Thermostat rebate applications must be submitted within 90 days of purchase.

Smart Thermostat Rebate Program Details
  • Rebate available on Google Nest Learning Thermostats and select Honeywell Smart Thermostats. View the complete list of qualifying Honeywell devices, including model numbers.
  • Thermostat must be WiFi network capable and installed at service address on member account.
  • Smart thermostat must be connected to working central air conditioner, heat pump, or geothermal system. Apartment or condominium A/C units do not qualify.
  • Qualifying smart thermostats must be eligible for and enrolled in the Smart Rewards program to receive rebate. 
  • Device must be a new purchase. Devices that come standard in new construction do not qualify for rebates but may qualify for Smart Rewards.
  • Limit two thermostat rebates per member account for standard/low voltage applications.
  • You must receive permanent, residential electric service from United Power to qualify.
  • Applications must be submitted within 90 days of purchase.
  • An Itemized receipt verifying purchase by the member must be submitted with rebate application. Please circle the equipment purchase on the receipt.
  • Submission of application does not guarantee rebate. 
  • Rebates in this category will be issued as a bill credit. Allow six to eight weeks for rebate processing.
Where do I purchase a smart thermostat?

Smart thermostats are sold at all major retailers, through HVAC contractors, hardware stores, and online direct from the manufacturer. You may purchase a smart thermostat at a retailer of your choice.

Currently, United Power offers rebates and Smart Rewards incentives on Nest Learning Thermostats and select Honeywell devices.

My home is a new build and came with a smart thermostat. Does my thermostat qualify for Smart Rewards credit and rebates?

Congratulations on your new home! If your new smart thermostat is a Nest or qualifying Honeywell model, you can enroll in Smart Rewards to earn a bill credit each year for helping us to curb peak power usage. Smart Thermostat rebates are designed to help members upgrade from older non-programmable models, so equipment that came included with your new home does not qualify for rebates.

Will you help me install or troubleshoot my smart thermostat?

Both Nest and Honeywell provide guides for installing a smart thermostat including video tutorials available online. If you are not comfortable installing a device yourself, your local HVAC contractor can quickly install your thermostat for a fee.
