TextPower United Power now offers outage text alerts to help keep you informed when the power goes out. If your mobile phone number is on your United Power account, you will automatically receive text confirmations of reported outages, updates when an outage is confirmed, and a text when power is restored. How Outage Text Alerts Work- An outage is reported or detected
- You may receive a text that we are investigating the outage
- Once the outage is confirmed, we will send an update
- When power is restored, we will let you know
- Report an Outage — To report an outage, call 303-637-1350, report online, or use the United Power mobile app. While important outage updates are sent directly to your mobile phone, outage reports by text are not available yet.
- One Number per Member — Members can register one mobile phone number per membership for outage text alerts. For members with multiple service locations or meters, the affected address will be included in the outage notification text. Billing and account notifications are managed separately from outage alerts.
- Opt Out — Outage notifications are sent automatically to members with a mobile number on file. Members can “opt out" of outage text alerts by simply replying STOP to a text alert or by texting STOP to 303-637-1350.

Unclaimed Capital Credits Each year, United Power attempts to issue Unclaimed Capital Credit Payouts to members who may have moved, changed account numbers, or changed names on their account. If your name appears on the Unclaimed Capital Credits list, you may be eligible for a payout from United Power.01/30/2024 - 11:57 PM

Understanding Demand United Power rates include an energy (kWh) component and a demand (kW) component. This rate structure breaks apart the traditional blended rate to charge each member more fairly for their use and impact on the local grid. The following information will help members better understand demand related to their energy use. So, what is demand? Demand (kW) refers to the maximum amount of electrical power that is being consumed at a given time, as opposed to energy (kWh), which is the amount of power used over a period of time. The Demand Charge line item that appears on your monthly bill represents the 15-minute interval with the highest amount of electricity used during that billing month – measured in kilowatts (kW). FOR EXAMPLE: Get in the driver’s seat of your car for a moment. Energy (kWh) would be what is recorded on your car’s odometer — a measurement of total miles. Demand is like your speedometer — measuring the rate at which the energy flows. The demand charge is like the highest recorded “miles-per-hour” speed during the month. What is demand?
